I'm always looking around for new and interesting educational toys for kids, although with a limited budget, I want to be smart about my choices. I will shop at a thrift store that may carry interesting toys in case you want to make a suggestion. Maybe you can help and start a list of toys/games that are suitable for a wide range of ages.

My son is crazy about legos right now and he's 3 1/2 years of age. He's playing with the "big" lego version with my 1 1/2 year old likes as well. I believe that he's ready for the next stage of legos (smaller pieces).

What are your picks?

We're not into leogs yet, but my son loves to color. We draw things and name them off - good for learning.

I have two boys 3 and 8, and their favorite toys are Legos and hot wheels with a race track. Hands down...LOL! Actually, they like to build Lego cars and they build garages out of Mega blocks for them. It is one of the things they both like to do. They also like Playdoh.

One educational toy I have that DS3 loves (DS8 didn't have it when he was little) is the Leapfrog Word Whammer. It goes on the fridge and he *loves* that toy!
