Okay so, my 10 month old has always sleep alot. He takes 4 naps a day starting at 4 months old. But now it is get to where the naps are longer and longer. The last 3 days he has only been awake for 5 hours. not all together the longest is 1 hour at a time. Most of the time I try to keep him up but that doesn't work. He will crawl up in the floor or walker or what ever he is in and just go to sleep. So far today this is how it has been....

went to sleep at 8:30 last night got up at 8:30 this morning
was up til 8:45 and fell to sleep in his bed before I could get to him.
slept from 8:45 till 11:00
up from 11:00 till 11:30
feeling back to sleep at 11:30 slept till 1:30
up from 1:30 till 2:00 fell back to sleep at 2:00 and it is not 4:30 and he is still asleep.

so does any have any ideas what is going on or am I just over reacting

i don't want to alarm you but i think i would talk to his Dr. i'm no Dr or nurse but that just does not seem right. i have a 14 month old and when she was that age she took 2 naps a day one in the morning which was about an hr and half and afternoon nap which was bout hour and half to two hrs. now that she's getting older the morning nap is only about 45 minutes but she still naps in afternoon for 2 hrs. but i seriously would call the Dr right away and make an appt.

I agree I would see your Ped. This is not normal at all. Of course, each baby is different, and some LOVE sleep, but this is a bit much for an almost one year old.
